UFCW Eastern Provinces Council would like to thank and congratulate all the graduates of the 2025 Young Workers Internship Program (YIP) Atlantic in Halifax this past week.
Workers from Locals 864, 1288P and 1252 spent time discussing numerous topics including labour history, the dynamics of how the globalization of capitalist economies affect working conditions, the way politics affect the workplace and practiced how to do collective bargaining.
The group received certificates for successful completion of the YIP Atlantic 2025 program following five days of tireless training and education.
“This group was great, everyone was very engaged and there was lots of interest in what they could do next, or how else they can get involved in their union,” said Connor Kelly, UFCW National Rep.
